Tin Shack Ltd. is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly. We recognize our responsibility to respect human rights and to prevent and reduce the risk of forced labour and child labour within our operations and supply chains. This Transparency Statement is published in accordance with Canada’s Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act (the “Act”).

The following summarizes Tin Shack Ltd.’s structure, activities, policies, due diligence processes, and actions taken during the reporting period to address risks related to forced labour and child labour. The information contained herein reflects the reporting period noted above and will be updated as required in future submissions.

About Tin Shack Ltd.

Tin Shack Ltd. is a privately owned Canadian company with approximately 40 employees. The company operates in retail trade, transportation and warehousing, and wholesale distribution. Tin Shack Ltd. has been in good standing and operating in Canada for over 30 years.

Tin Shack Ltd. is headquartered in Ontario and conducts business across Canada through retail, e-commerce, sales, marketing, and distribution activities.

Structure, Activities, and Supply Chains

Tin Shack Ltd. imports goods into Canada that are produced outside of Canada and distributes them domestically. The company holds exclusive sales, marketing, and distribution rights in Canada for:

  • Blundstone Boots (Australia)

  • glerups Slippers (Denmark)

Tin Shack Ltd. does not manufacture goods directly. Instead, it works closely with long-standing global suppliers that are subject to and compliant with modern slavery legislation in their respective jurisdictions. In addition, Tin Shack Ltd. works with local Canadian suppliers who are known to be compliant with applicable employment standards and human rights legislation.

  • Mapped supply chain activities and monitored suppliers

  • Required suppliers to maintain policies prohibiting forced labour and child labour

  • Relied on supplier-led external assessments and compliance programs where applicable

Tin Shack Ltd. recognizes that the footwear and apparel industries can be higher-risk sectors globally. Risks have been identified related to product type, sourcing regions, and materials used. The company continues to refine its risk assessment processes and to identify emerging risks as part of its ongoing due diligence efforts.

Actions Taken to Prevent and Reduce Risk

Tin Shack Ltd. has taken the following steps to prevent and reduce the risk of forced labour and child labour:

  • Selecting suppliers that are compliant with modern slavery legislation in their home countries

  • Maintaining open and regular communication with suppliers regarding supply chain practices

As no instances of forced labour or child labour were identified during the reporting period, no remediation measures or income replacement actions were required.

At the time of reporting, Tin Shack Ltd. did not provide formalized training programs specifically focused on forced labour and child labour. The company continues to assess appropriate training opportunities as part of its evolving compliance efforts.
